Degas and The Dancers
In Search of Perfection
We are kicking off IBT’s 2021/22 Academic Year with a stand-alone series of 4 lectures on one of the most influential French painters, his ballet oeuvre and experimental methods, his relationship with Paris Opéra (now Paris Opéra Ballet) and the many ways his legacy impacted and inspired creation and re-staging of ballet productions in the 21st century, in France and the US.
Lectures will take place
at the studio and the Philadelphia Museum of Art on September 16, 17, 18 and 25, in person.

this specific 4-lecture course is by Artistic Director’s invitation only.
However, attention all Company members!
IBT’s new Comparative Ballet History course for 2021/22 Academic Year will also open with a lecture on Degas and his ballet paintings and sculpture.
This lecture for all IBT Company memebrs will take place on September 17.
